Absolutely soothing and so very much welcomed during such chaos and uncertainty. Thank you Jill! It is so obvious this came from somewhere very deep and true in side you! Bravo!
Favorite track: Tuning to the Moon (prelude).
A bit of medicine for the madness...."Evocations of The Moon" are spontaneous piano pieces utilizing specific frequencies to boost healing, clarity, good physical and mental health.
These pieces were all recorded during the coronavirus lockdown, in isolation alone in my San Francisco apartment—on the night of the Super Moon. These pieces became sonic spells, keeping me sane and comforted during this crisis.
Returning to my extreme night owl tendencies, coupled with restlessness, uncertainty, and insomnia, that gorgeous Moon became my trusted companion.
As the skies grew clearer from lack of pollution, the nights turned even more majestic— Venus glistened like a diamond, the Full Moons unprecedented, much like this time in history.
I decided to sit in the dark and play piano, evolving planetary and healing frequencies into my own melodies to soothe, and boost my passion, creativity, health, and well being. I did research into frequencies that would help re-align emotionally from this frightening and surreal time in our lives.
When everything changed.
After I recorded these four pieces. I found them always stuck inside my head.
I would return to listen, like an aural talisman protecting me from fear, depression, longing, and anxiety.
I never intended to release them publicly. I needed to tap into my inner self again and leave the chaos far in the outside world.
As time went by, I received countless emails from people thanking me— saying they were listening to my music while in quarantine, and it was bringing them enormous comfort— so I realized these 4 new lunar pieces needed to be out in the world too.
Sound and vibration is the integral force in Nature, in ourselves. There has never been a better time for people to have this intentional music to transport and transform. Tune into the natural magic.
(If you have ever attended my Sonic Séance performances, you know I always do a piece in the frequency of the Synodic Moon. Audiences often tell me it’s their favorite— the lunar evocation inspires, calms and incites emotions that had kept them stuck and dormant.)
“Spontaneous music” means I simply play, channel the emotions. It’s not composed or prepared. No re-takes. Nothing electronic. It’s my pure reaction, an organic living thing, a direct energy transference from me to you.
The beauty and power of these pieces also lie in their fragility. I only play them once. I will never play these pieces exactly like this again. They become an actual souvenir of Time and energy captured.
How intense to be able to offer you some of my Moon magic now— to manifest into your very own. It is much needed portal out of our current troubled world.
Be well. xox
REVIEWS for "Evocations of The Moon:"
“Evocations Of The Moon ”is the lunar voice, burst into the deep silence of the night: It is a companion in solitude, a guide for all those who are lost, physically or mentally, and wander in search of their own salvation. A home, a safe place, a kind word, a hug, the awareness of one's limits during this recent period of isolation.
We have emerged with power, since we are now stripped of the more frenetic, superficial contents of our lives. These captivating evocations of piano, imbued with ambient and cinematic sounds, in fact, were created by Jill Tracy in the lockdown, recorded on the night of the Super Moon. When the world stopped, we again had the opportunity to listen to the breath of nature, to tune in with those mysterious forces that pervade Creation.
There is another way now—this is the meaning of these songs. We do not necessarily have to bend to an existence based solely on materialism and unbridled and senseless consumerism. We can turn our gaze upwards and let ourselves be inspired by the beauty and harmony of its white pallor, its craters, its seas, its intriguing and elusive hidden side.
Jill has given free rein to wonder, tamed the restlessness, transforming it into a creative impulse, putting human beings, their feelings, their perceptions, their moments of suffering— but also their joys, as the inspiration for this music.
"Evocations Of The Moon" is a testimony of human frailty, but also of enormous empathy; Jill Tracy has captured a precise moment of her life and made it immortal, giving it to anyone who is willing to pay attention, opening those doors we often forcefully keep closed, for fear of judgment of others, or of the possible disappointments that could derive if someone invades our intimacy, preferring an anonymous, sterile, flat and ‘approved’ life, rather than risking to get involved, expressing our diversity and trying to achieve our true dreams. “ —MiK Brigante, Parco Paranoico, Italy
“Wrapped between a magical ballad and supernatural ambience, the deep soothing compositions of Jill Tracy’s new EP, Evocations of The Moon creates an alternate universe that feels as if one is floating in the air over the streets. The cathartic piano resembles the pain and pleasure of life – creating an immaculate balance of good versus evil. If you like Phillip Glass, you’ll be into this.” —TourWorthy

Just the right mix of geeky and emotional and sardonic. I'm really starting to believe that every member of this, the only supergroup I'll really ever need in my life can do no wrong. I'm just glad I'm not the only one with a bit of a crush on Nicola Tesla... eforenigma
