You asked, and I obliged! The perfect keepsake of the year that will forever live within us. "A Medicine for Madness" is the ENTIRE collection of inspired piano tracks I recorded alone in isolation in 2020—previously released in a series of 3 EPs and a final single.
I wanted the works to exist as one album, chronicling the emotional arc of 2020, a year that will have an impact on the rest of our lives.
Certainly terrifying and poignant, there was also a strange, transformative beauty hidden within 2020. We will never be the same again.

The 10 tracks on this album are in the order they were first released.

Tracks 1-4: "Evocations of the Moon" are 4 spontaneous piano pieces utilizing specific frequencies to boost healing, clarity, good physical and mental health.
These pieces were all recorded as an EP early in the coronavirus lockdown, in isolation alone on the night of the Super Moon. These pieces became sonic spells, keeping me sane and comforted during this crisis. I sat in the dark and played piano, evolving planetary and healing frequencies into my own melodies to soothe, and boost my passion, creativity, health, and well being. I did research into frequencies that would help re-align emotionally from this frightening and surreal time in our lives.
When everything changed. At that time we had NO idea what was to come.

Tracks 5 and 6: "Seclusion 22" and "Whispers Behind the Glass" were released as a 2-song EP in July, when we all began to become stir crazy, feeling helpless, and in disbelief. We had been forced to create our own secret, secluded new worlds.
This is the lush accompaniment. The Night Music.
These tracks are dark piano pieces evoking the confinement, desolation, madness, and erotic longing.

Tracks 7-9: These three tracks became the EP "The Dark Day"-- recorded amidst charcoal tangerine skies September 9, 2020 , the strange day in San Francisco when there was no sun due to toxic smoke from a multitude of wildfires burning throughout the state. Chilling, intense and beautiful, these pieces transport you into this frightful, melancholy and otherworldly environment of those blackened hours.

Track 10: With the year’s end, we reflect not only the death of those from Covid 19, but also the death of life as we knew it. The death of dreams, businesses, long term plans, relationships, love, and the carefree regard of daily social activities we always took for granted.
There will be no getting back to “like it was before.”
We will carry the impact of 2020 with us for the rest of our lives.

"Elegy for a Solitary Year" is a lament for all the deaths this year, as well as the death of our old selves.

But in this strange chaos hides a deeper beauty. A profound reset, an awakening. to what matters now. Permission to make changes, re-invent, manifest an entirely new magic.
